MetaTester 5 Agent: Earn money just by leaving your PC on!

What is MetaTester 5 Agent?

People use MetaTrader for trading foreign currency etc. many will have complicated scripts for determining the best times to make trades. The more processing power they have, the faster and better their scripts can be. MetaTester 5 Agent is were you come in, you can let people pay for your computers processing power by turning each core of your CPU into a Tester Agent.

Is this a good money making method?

From personal experience, no but this is one I've lost interest in for the time being. After m first week having this installed on two computers I've made $0.001, yes one tenth of a cent. All that was from my work computer, an Intel i5, my older and slower laptop didn't make anything. Now it makes sense people will, when paying for something, choose the best CPU available. If you have the latest i7 PC and it's always on you may do a lot better than I did.

Tell me what you think of MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester Agent. Do you make more money from it?

MinerGate: Make money mining altcoins whilst you sleep!

About Me?

Briefly as this is my first post I'll explain who I am and why I'm doing this. I'm from Ireland, over working in London and I made a big purchase on my credit card not so long ago. I was about £70 away from being able to pay it off in full. In princple I didn't want to hold a balance on my card or go into my overdraft. I could have flogged stuff on eBay but I kind of like my stuff. Also I didn't want to do extra hours as I'm already working full-time. So the idea of installing an app at work and home and letting the money pour in was very appealing. Yes you can have the same account on more than one computer and yes I've been plotting my take over of all the office computers (please don't actually do that).

Make Money from your PC whilst you Sleep!

At least that's what many other online money making blogs claim. I was more than a bit sceptical as none of them said how much they made but I was bored enough to give it a go and it's pretty straightforward. So what's the sells pitch:

"Many of us wouldn't have the specialised equipment needed for mining bitcoin and other altcoins. The gear is expensive and there is a lot of competition. So, our best option is to mine other cryptocurrencies that are in baby phase. The great thing is some coins are only minable from your PC and you can optimise your income using MinerGate* which automatically mines the most valuable coins"

What is Minergate?

  • MinerGate is a Windows application that uses your computer power (CPU and/or GPU) to mine cryptocurrencies like AEON, BCN, DSH, FCN, XDN, XMR, etc.
  • With a modern PC you can mine these altcoins and trade them at exchange sites for cash.
  • Some coin algorithms are suitable to mine only from CPU and/or GPU, so there is no competition from ASIC miners, the big boys going after bitcoins.
  • By combining both CPU and GPU you'll earn more.

What is smart mining?

MinerGate has a feature called "smart mining". It mines coins that are trading at the highest rate of exchange in the last hour. Also as you can see in the picture I used "Reward Method: PPS" this is the default but if you use the program for over a month you should use PPLNS as there will be a small increase in earnings.

What is web mining?

For web mining log in to minergate.com and click on Web Mining. Ideal if you can't install software on the computer you're using.

MinerGate affiliate programme.

MinerGate runs an affiliate programme. MinerGate shares 30% of their profit from your affiliates and for more than 31 affiliates they share 75% profit. As this is my first post I have no affiliates and even if I did I wouldn't expect to make a great deal. I will share this information in future.

Personnal Experience.

I've been using MinerGate* for just under a week mostly at work for 7 hours a day on average using 2 out of 4 cores, with no noticably effect on the computers performance. Home Laptop produced too much heat for my liking and Mobile app was pretty slow so didn't bother with them much. I earned €0.03, now some of my income is unconfirmed at the moment but it gives you an idea, work PC is an i5 CPU with no GPU.

I'll do the maths in future, see if it's worth investing in a cheap but powerful Graphics Card when I get a desktop PC at home but for the moment, this is an install at work and forget about application. Definitely not something I'd leave running at home over night whilst I slept. It would use more electricity than it's worth. Of course stay tuned for updates it's an interesting enough idea that I will be returning to it, but for the moment other methods of earning money online have been more fruitful.

Tell me what you think of MinerGate*. Do you make more money from it?
